Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has started to publish data on social welfare in Kosovo since 2002.  
In this publication are compiled all information pertaining the year 2011.  
Source of these data is the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare (MLSW) respectively the following departments:  
Social Welfare Department - provides data on beneficiaries of social assistance, data for abandoned children, data for elderly and persons without family home care located in the elderly home, data for people with special needs in the Institute of Shtime.  
Department of Pensions Administration - provides data for basic pensions, pensions by payment-contributions and pensions for persons with special needs, Department of Families of Martyrs and War Invalids - provides data for pensions provided to families of martyrs and war invalids.  
This is the tenth publication of the KAS, respectively the Department of Social Statistics for Social Welfare and will serve as a useful reference base for all users of statistical data about social welfare.  
These data will serve as important in order to know the social environment in Kosovo.
