Department of Economic Statistics and National Accounts

1.  Responsibilities of Department

a.  The Department is responsible for collecting, analysing and publishing, timely,  of  reliable official statistics on the economy of Kosovo including national accounts, prices, businesses
, enterprises and foreign trade.

b.  The Department develop, publish and implement a five year work plan. This work plan shall be updated annually.

c.  The Department publish data of its sources and methods on compiling economic statistics, either from its own survey activities or from administrative sources, and update these details whenever appropriate.

d.  The Department work towards the use of the classifications, standards and methodologies of Eurostat for development of economic statistics for Kosovo.

e.  The Department provide  the comparability of Kosovo’s statistical data with international data.

f.     The Department prepare and publish quality assessments of official statistics on the economy of Kosovo obtained from both survey data and administrative sources.



2.  Division of National Accounts

The Division shall collect, process, analyse and publish statistics on:
a.  Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by expenditure b.  Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by production c.   Government revenue and expenditure

3.  Division of Price Statistics

The Division shall collect, process, analyse and publish statistics on:
a.  Consumer Prices and the Consumer Price Index (CPI)
b.  Import prices
c.  Production prices
d.  Purchasing power parity indices for Kosovo

4.  Division of Enterprise and Foreign Trade

The Division shall collect, process, analyse and publish:
a.  Business Register Statistics
b.  Structural Survey of enterprise statistics
c.  Transport and telecommunications statistics, d.  Industry statistics
e.  Energy and mining statistics
f.     Hostelry and tourism statistics.
