Kosovo Agency of Statistical (KAS), respectively the Department of Economic Statistics and National Accounts released today, the Foreign Trade Statistics for July 2012.
Foreign trade data in Kosovo indicate that the trade deficit in July 2012 was 209.4 million €, compared to a deficit of 192.5 million €, in July 2011.
The export in July 2012 was worth 25.5 million €, while the import was worth 234.9 million €, this is a decline by (-13.6%) for export, as well as an increase by (5.8%) for import compared to the same period of 2011.
According to the data for exports main groups: (48.6%) of export consists of base metals and articles thereof, (6.8%) vegetable products (5.2%) prepared foodstuffs, beverages and tobacco ,(5.1%) plastics, rubber and articles thereof, (4.5%) mineral products, (3.2%) textiles and textile articles, etc.
According to the data for imports main groups: (19.9%) of import consists of mineral products, (12.9%) prepared foodstuffs, beverages and tobacco, (11.9%) of base metals and articles thereof, (10.4%), machinery, mechanical and electrical equipments, (7.1%) products of chemical industry,(5.7%) means of transport, (5.4%) plastics, rubber and articles thereof, etc.
In July 2012 the largest percentage of export was in: Italy (22.7%), Germany (21.4%), Albania (17.2%), Macedonia (6.9%), Serbia (4.6%) etc..
While, according to the data the largest percentage of import was from: Germany (14.2%), Serbia (11.5%), Italy (11.2%), Macedonia (10.8%), Turkey (7.2%), China (6.1%) etc.
European Union participates in our country's exports with (51.3%) and in imports with (43.3%).
The data of July 2012 indicate that mostly we have export goods through border crossing points: Hani Elezit (40.0%), Vërmicë (28.4%), Kulla e Pejës(Peja Tower) (17.2%), etc.
While, we import mostly through border crossing points: Hani Elezit (25.2%), Merdare (23.2%), Vërmica (18.2%), Inter Europe (15.2%), etc.
