Environment Statistics

The Section of Environment publishes statistics about air, water, energy, biodiversity and waste. The first publication “Some Facts on Environment“ was realized in September 2007 that was joint product of KAS and SIDA/Swedish Statistics.

This publication aims to contribute in creation of sustainable statistical information on the environment situation in Kosovo by sections.

Data are collected from the institutions that deal with the monitoring of the environment indices and are given in annual basis, and are published every two years.

In December 2008, the KAS has published the Municipal Waste statistics 2007. Again, this is the first time that the KAS publishes such a publication (conduct a survey); it achieved to create a statistical database for the section of the municipal waste. Data were collected from municipal companies that manage the municipal waste: according to the generation place of the waste and the quantity of the collected waste by the place where it was disposed.
