We inform you that your family has been selected to be interviewed during the pilot-project, which aims to test the methodology which will be applied in November 2013, when will start the Agriculture Census. By means of Agriculture Census, KAS provides reliable statistical information necessary for planning and implementation of agricultural policies and other policies, as well as for scientific researches. Agriculture Census also establishes a database with agriculture holdings and statistical farm register. This will enable the development of the agricultural statistical system in Kosovo in compliance with EU legislation. Agriculture Census provides information on the structure of agriculture holdings within the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, harmonized with EU standards and international recommendations. Agriculture Census has not been conducted in Kosovo since 1960. Agriculture Census pilot-project covers all municipalities of the Republic of Kosovo and it will use the methods, based on samples, in which the households have been selected. In each municipality have been selected two enumeration areas(EA) in rural areas and one EA in urban areas. While, within selected enumeration area in rural areas, every third household has been selected as a sample. From 1 to 15 November, enumerators will visit you for interviewing on Pilot-project in order to ensure information on agricultural activities (crops cultivated, animals kept, workers in the farm, the machinery used and other questions related to agriculture activity of the household).
Interviews will be carried out by KAS' enumerators, the institution, which is responsible for the surveys. All enumerators are required to introduce themselves with ID cards, while the data
KAS will be very grateful if you agree to be interviewed, in order to provide your data on the questions that will be made to you. All data will be confidential and will be used only for statistical purposes.
